Valentine's day special Almond Cookies

Make these Almond cookies and impress you loved one. Very simple and easy recipe.
Ingredients:
11/2-cup all purpose flour
21/4 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1/2-cup sugar
1/2-cup flaked almonds
1/2-cup butter
1/4 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 tsp red Icing color

Directions:
In a large bowl sift together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar. Add flaked almonds, vanilla essence and butter (Butter should be at room temperature). Incorporate all the ingredients well with spatula or use hand. For color combination divide the dough in half, add the Red Icing color in one half dough.
Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
Flatten the dough using the roller pin and roll out  dough to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into desired shape, I used two different size heart shape cookie cutters. Do the same with other half red color dough, place it on the top of the white dough and decorate with flaked almond. Now place it on greased baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until cookies are just begging to turn brown the edges. Let it sit for 10 minutes on the counter and then move to complete cooling on wire rack. Store in air tight container for up to 1 week.
